Marking the single biggest investment the company has ever made, earlier this year we initiated an entire overhaul of our website. Lead by fellow Nottingham-based company, JH, the website project was ongoing for 8 months and was set to include all the latest technological advances in the industry.
Becoming one of the very first websites of its kind (certainly the only one in the pharmaceutical sector), our website is a progressive web app (PWA). This means that it loads instantly and is perfectly optimised for mobile devices (which we know that so many people opt for over desktop now).
It was a big investment, a long wait and a lot of work (for both our developers at the agency and our in-house tech team) but the new website has proved to be successful, both commercially and from the perspective of our customers. Not only has our new website allowed us to implement a number of new features, but it's also speedy and can handle high volumes of traffic.
Now that success is being recognised further afield, as the UK Meds website has officially been shortlisted for the Ecommerce Awards 2019. Now in its 11th year, the awards aim to highlight some of the very best online companies and the innovations they have to offer.
UK Meds are finalists in the Best Health & Beauty eCommerce category, and Best eCommerce Technology Innovation (in partnership with JH) but the team will have to wait until September 25th to find out if they've won!
The awards ceremony is hosted at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square and the evening will consist of a drinks reception, dinner, and plenty of opportunities to network and socialise. Fingers crossed for UK Meds!
